9 out of 12 Titanium Exposé Issue 2 Zine + 7" cover

Various Artists - Titanium Exposé Issue 2 Zine + 7"
(Titanium Exposé)

This is a zine that comes with a 7" that has 10 songs on it. The zine has interviews with Ui, Melt Banana, The Black Heart Procession, Red Krayola, and a history of Krautrock. The 7" features songs by GoGoGoAirheart, Soul Junk, Rafter, Last of the Juanitas, and, most notably, Black Heart Procession and Physics.

The Black Heart Procession song is an instrumental version of "The Old Kind of Summer" from their first album. The song is entitled "Pulsecheck" on this 7" and is only 2 minutes. It's short length is my only complaint. The accordian part that appears on the album version is traded for a violin on the 7" and a much more demo feel all around. "Pulsecheck" is a nice supplement to Black Heart Procession's discography but certainly doesn't outshine the original version.

"00:00:00" by Physics is a great song. It's barely over a minute long, but has a lock groove at the end, so the length changes drastically depending upon my mood. It starts with a fairly strange part for Physics that sounds almost indie rock (or prog), with emphasis on the rock. Then it devolves into a steady single chord, which gives way to high register random synthesizer beeping. The lock groove is this beeping and is very smooth, so you don't realize it's the lock groove until the song has been playing for five minutes and you realize the minute passed long ago.
