12 out of 12 Ice Storm 7

Land. - Ice Storm 7"
(Pop Bus)

Land. is an amazing two piece band from Pittsburgh, PA. I was lucky enough to get this 7" at a show of theirs I attended in PA as I was traveling across the country. Side A, "Ice Storm," is minimally structured with thickly layered delayed guitars that get heavier and more dense as the song continues. The vocals, while maintaining their own style, are the perfect combination of Codeine and Low.

Side B, "Hov (sleep pt.1)," is a wonderfully relaxing minimal set of pulsating low end guitar loops. As the low end starts to cut out more and more creating a mesmerizing rythm, an effects-laden bowed guitar drone comes in over the top. The bowed drone continues to swell and expand as the low-end pulse slowly breaks apart.

Seek this out. Both songs, on their own, are worth the price of this 7".
