Brother JT - Rainy Day Fun
(Drunken Fish)

Rainy Day Fun is literally the case as I sit down to write this review (it's raining and I'm having fun writing this review, get it?). On this release, Brother JT unleashes good old home brewed 4 track FUN! The drums and bass are squishy, the guitars are fuzzy, and the vocals are quite underwater. Listen to "This is the Life" and see what I mean.

At times I am reminded of the Apples in Stereo and their E6 compatriots. The main difference seems to be that this album sounds more E6 than anyone ever has. What I mean is that when I thought of that collective before ever hearing the music, I thought it would be cute, homemade, and fun. Brother JT is all of the above almost to a fault. At times the mood wears on me and I want to reach for the Stars of the Lid, but the thought of leaving such unbridled enthusiasm and catchiness brings me back for more!

Kind of like candy... bad for the teeth but good for the soul.
