What can I say about Kelly Clarkson that every person who's reading this doesn't already know? She's got the voice of an angel, nerves of steel, a lovely personality, and she's very beautiful. Being my favorite American Idol since I began watching the show when it was down to the top ten finalists, I was on the edge of my seat for what seemed like forever waiting for her to win. She more than deserved to win and those who don't know who she is should pick up this single and listen to the talent that's won America's heart.
Both songs "Before Your Love" and "A Moment Like This" were written especially for the winner of the contest. Kelly and Justin sang both of these songs two nights in a row with Kelly knocking it out of the ballpark each time. Granted, Justin did do a great job, but as soon as Kelly opened her mouth, the show was over. These are two really great songs that not only bring back great memories of the show, but also let Kelly really display her talented voice.
And who could forget her singing "A Moment Like This" while in tears after winning the contest? Paula, one of the judges on American Idol, said "Kelly could make 'Mary Had A Little Lamb' a #1 hit." Well I think she just made "A Moment Like This" a #1 hit and "Before Your Love" is right behind it. Great voice by Kelly and awesome songs by British and Swedish writers; an amazing combination! Kelly has such a powerful yet graceful voice that maximizes that special characteristic of European pop music.
- "Before Your Love:" Co-written by early 90s popstar, Cathy Dennis. First she wrote for Kylie's ever-phenomenal hit, "Can't Get You out of My Head" and now a beautiful ballad for Kelly. Wonderfully written and produced... a typical British pop style combined with American soul-pop voice. Kelly really proves that she is beyond oh-so-typical popstar. As the "mean" Brit executive Simon Cowell commented, she is in the leagues of Mariah, Whitney, and Celine.
- "A Moment Like This:" Written by Jorgen Elofsson and produced by Steve Mac. A dream team for British pop music. They wrote and produced various pop artists such as Westlife, Britney Spears, Steps, etc... This song accentuates Kelly's amazing voice and will definitely make her a long-lasting popstar.
If you didn't get a chance to hear her, let me tell you that these songs are great. Kelly has a fantastic voice and hits all the notes perfectly. These are ballads, but definitely NOT boring. I can't wait for her album. In the meantime, I can hear her beautiful voice on this CD. My favorite of the two is "A Moment Like This," however, both are 5 stars.
Boy, I bet Mariah Carey and Celine Dion are looking for a new line of work now that my girl is on the scene. She has the most beautifulest voice in the world, and she is pretty too. This song is sure to win the Academy Award for best song even though it's not in a movie. The Oscars will overlook that and hop on the Grammy bandwagon.
