Tiara - Again Cast In

I'll admit there was a time when Backstreet Boys "I
Want It That Way" would come on the radio or TV, and I
would turn it up and sing along. What can I say? I'm
a sucker for a well-crafted pop song. However, I
usually prefer my pop to be not quite so processed and
cheesy. I find that individually-sliced music runs out of flavor
quickly. That's why I'm always happy when I hear
bands like Tiara. Bands that aren't afraid to write pop
songs that have more interesting elements than just
the vocal melody. Again Cast In, Tiara's second full
length, is a good example of this. The band combines
great melodies with musical beds that have enough
texture and depth not to become trite. I'm sure long
after I've memorized the songs on this record I'll
still find something there to hold my interest.
