2 out of 12 American't (or Won't) cover

Six Going on Seven - American't (or Won't)
(Big Wheel Recreation)

Boring and tedious pop music that attempts to funnel an Elvis Costello or Joe Jackson type songwriting persona through a fake, weak, pretentious, almost Matchbox 20-ishly bad performance style. The sound is uninspring and plasticky despite having high production "cred " marks (it was recorded at Fort Apache with a "name" producer). After listening to the CD several times, I can't blame the blandness of the presentation on a poor recording; the only explanation is that this band simply doesn't play with an ounce of energy or passion--and anyway, their songs aren't that good in the first place. I don't think David Lee Roth could wake these guys up. Not that this CD will put you to sleep; it will get on your nerves too much for that.
