Pinehurst Kids - Bleed It Dry
(Barbaric)

The Pinehurst Kids write bright, chirpy pop songs that should appeal very much to fans of Superchunk, the Promise Ring, and (not surprisingly) the Get Up Kids. Despite the easy classification with "pop-punk" the album is satisfyingly three dimensional--consistently good but with enough texture to stay interesting from start to finish and surprisingly fresh. The Pinehurst Kids are unpretentious, uncomplicated, and don't take on any more than the fundamental responsibility of rock musicians, which is to just be fun to listen to.
