The Black Heart Procession - Three
(Touch and Go)

On Three, the Black Heart Procession's 3rd full-length album, Pall and Tobias (also of the amazingly dark and intense Three Mile Pilot) continue to make music that will haunt listeners for months or maybe even forever. I don't mean to sound so overly dramatic, but there is just something about the combination of the Black Heart Procession's music and singing that sticks with you and wont let you go.

With the use of guitar, piano, drums, the musical saw, the waterphone, organs, bass, and more, Black Heart create some of them most bleak, brooding and stark music ever recorded. While you are being mesmerized by the music's hypnotic soundscapes and repeating, slow-moving rhythms, the stories of sadness and loss seep into your head and burry under your skin creating imagery so thick and vivid you start to feel, and almost believe, that all of the heart wrenching experiences are your own.

Though all the songs on Three blend well with the band's previous recordings, a lot of them have thicker layers of additional noises and non-traditional instruments taking the lead, while others like "Till We Have to Say Goodbye" and "The War is Over" are even more stripped down in sound than previous Black Heart songs.

The Black Heart Procession have once again created a beautifully poignant and unforgettable album that will linger in your mind for months and years to come.
