Just a hair under 5 years ago, fakejazz published issue 0 and tried to get the word out by passing out fliers advertising free Metallica MP3s. Back then, we were bored deskmonkeys with not much to do, trying to convince our bosses we were busy by furiously typing away, adding HTML tags to our friends' writing for publication. Now, we are deskmonkeys with a bit too much to do, working overtime in a vain attempt to continue to publish issues at a regular rate. As you probably have figured out, there won't be any more issues of fakejazz. However, the site is not coming to an end. In order to eliminate the bottleneck of such needless things as "editing" and "organization," fakejazz is switching to a more free form, more interactive style. We'll launch our new design in the next month or so. Our last formal issue contains our year end tradition, fakejazz's version of VH1's THE LIST. If you haven't read previous years' THE LISTs, it's our completely insane and inane manner of determing a year end Best Of list, leaving the final decision on Album of the Year to you, the reader.
