Lately I've been hearing a lot about Code Orange. In fact, I was watching basketball this afternoon, and they interrupted the game right at the most exciting part so that Dan Rather could update us on how everyone is getting prepared for Code Orange.

I just don't see what all the hype is about. I mean, why is everyone getting so excited about a new flavor of Mountain Dew? Sure Code Red was exciting and all... the first time they really changed the classic Mountain Dew formula. But I never would have guessed everyone would get so worked up over Code Orange, the new orange flavored Mountain Dew.

...Especially given the fact that Mountain Dew is already orange flavored. Let me quote from my current can: "Ingredients: carbonated water blah blah blah blah blah CONCENTRATED ORANGE JUICE!" So, it seems like normal Mountain Dew is already Code Orange Mountain Dew, despite the fact that it is more yellow in color than orange. So what gives with all the Code Orange hype? Is a change in color from yellow to orange really worth getting that worked up about?

I have to admit I haven't tried Code Orange yet. Maybe it really is something to get all worked up about. Perhaps they added real pulp or something really exciting like that. Or maybe they just doubled the caffeine. That always helps. Maybe if they did both those things, it would make Code Orange something worth getting all excited over, but since there's really no information yet on what makes Code Orange different from Code Red or just plain old, normal Code Yellow (i.e., Mountain Dew Classic), I'm not exactly trembling with anticipation.

But maybe I'm wrong. Maybe Code Orange really is a lot better than the normal Code Yellow Mountain Dew. Maybe if everyone's favorite Dew was Code Orange, I'd given in and try it. So, what's your favorite Mountain Dew?

What is your favorite flavor of Mountain Dew?
Code Red(Cherry)
Code Orange(Orange)
Code Yellow(Classic)
Code Blue(Berry)
Code Green(Lime)
