TV Gilmore Girls Ep 107 Season 5 - How Many Kropogs to Cape Cod?

gilmoregirls.jpgWhile I had been clamoring for a plot-heavy episode for a few months now, the plot this episode was heavy with left me pretty unsatisfied. The main event of this episode was Logan's first visit to Richard and Emily's house. Richard and Emily are of course ecstatic about having Rory date one of their own. Like Luke for Lorelai, they saw Jess and Dean as not fit for the Gilmore family, so having Rory find someone from the same caste sends them into a tizzy, already daydreaming of weddings and great grandchildren. Desperate to get to know Logan better, Lorelai asks Emily if she can attend, despite the current sourness of their relationship and the impending doom of the magazine article. Emily allows her to attend, but only if she agrees to start attending all the Friday dinners. Even though they reach this agreement, Emily couldn't have been more catty at the dinner, playing up the fact that she hasn't seen Lorelai in a while, and making Lorelai feel completely uncomfortable. While Emily and Lorelai's relationship remains strained, Richard has set up a deal with a friend of his to help further Lorelai's career. That, coupled with the increased prospect of Luke buying the museum, is leading to a major impasse for Luke and Lorelai. It's looking more and more like this season's finale will be a very frustrating one: Lorelai and Luke's relationship will be in question because Luke wants things to progress more quickly, Lorelai and Emily's relationship may suffer its death blow when the article about the Dragonfly finally gets published, and Lorelai and Rory's relationship may take a hit because Lorelai is the only person who seems less than impressed by Logan. Good thing the show's already been assured a Season 6.
