Alone in the Dark (Uwe Boll, 2005)
The only thing I really knew about this going in was that it was going to be an intense head to head battle between Christian Slater, and Stephen Dorff, or as I call him, the new Christan Slater. Oh, apparently this was also based on a videogame.
Basically this is the classic "Boy is psychic detective, boy leaves girl to hunt psychic relics in the Amazon, boy gets girl when he comes home, boy has been implanted with a parasite type creature since childbirth, that makes him really strong" story, but the twist is that the girl is Tara Reid.
I realize that since this is based on a videogame, they need to make sure the characters are wearing the same clothes in the movie that they were in the game, but there were only a few times in the movie that I was able to stop laughing about how Slater looked wearing a black tanktop with a trenchcoat with multiple buckles.
The fact that this movie actually made it to theaters is really surprising, but I am extremely glad that it did. I have really missed Dorff on the big screen, and this was so much funnier than the 500 CC's of E-Justice that he injected into Feardotcom.com.
