House of Flying Daggers is a really well done love story/love triangle from the same director as Hero and Raise the Red Lantern. The movie with a few really amazing scenes. The opening scene in the Peony Pavillion is great with its set design and costumes (with a nice payoff later in the movie), and the ending scene in the snow with the final dagger toss is great too. It didn't have the cinematography of Hero, and the story was more conventional (although one could say there are a million movies covering the same subject as Hero in China/Hong Kong, they just never make it to the West). Still, it's a really good movie.
